13 October 2026Forza Inc., a US manufacturer of industrial adhesives, sealants and specialty tapes, is expanding its HyPer Polymer® product line with three new products designed for the manufacture of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment. The new additions are ForzaSEAL® OS2, ForzaBOND® OA4 and ForzaBOND® OA13, developed for bonding and sealing applications in air handling equipment.
The three solutions are based on the company’s proprietary modified silane (MS) hybrid polymer technology. According to Forza, the formulations are free of solvents and isocyanates and feature low volatile organic compound (VOC) content. These characteristics address the industry’s growing focus on workplace safety and the reduction of emissions during assembly operations.
Bonding Challenges in HVAC Equipment
Control cabinets, panels and air handling units must remain reliable over time, even under demanding operating conditions. Temperature fluctuations, continuous vibration and exposure to moisture place stress on joints and seals, potentially affecting equipment durability and performance.
These requirements are compounded by challenges associated with manufacturing processes. The use of solvent-based adhesives can introduce flammability hazards and the risk of potentially dangerous atmospheres, requiring dedicated storage and handling procedures. Curing times are another critical factor: lengthy curing cycles can slow assembly operations and reduce production line efficiency.
In this context, MS hybrid polymer-based adhesives and sealants may offer an alternative for applications requiring a balance of technical performance, operational safety and process efficiency.
Modified Silane Polymers: An Alternative to Traditional Systems
Silyl-modified polymers (SMPs) combine characteristics of different polymer families and are used in the formulation of adhesives and sealants for industrial applications. Formulations free of solvents and isocyanates can help reduce the use of certain substances in manufacturing processes, while low VOC content is another relevant consideration when selecting materials.
For HVAC equipment manufacturers, adopting these solutions requires an application-specific assessment. Substrate compatibility, resistance to environmental stresses, working times and curing performance must all be evaluated against operating conditions and component specifications.
Product selection should also take into account the supplier’s safety claims and available technical documentation, without generalising the performance characteristics of an entire polymer family.
Material Selection and Regulatory Compliance
For professionals developing or specifying bonding and sealing systems, comparing technologies and suppliers is an important part of the design process. SpecialChem’s main adhesives catalogue enables users to explore modified silane polymers from different manufacturers and access information on their regulatory status.
The expansion of the HyPer Polymer® range reflects a market in which material selection depends not only on joint performance requirements, but also on factory risk management, production cycle efficiency and regulatory compliance.
With the launch of ForzaSEAL® OS2, ForzaBOND® OA4 and ForzaBOND® OA13, Forza aims to provide additional options for bonding and sealing operations in HVAC manufacturing. The actual performance of each product and its suitability for specific applications should be assessed using the relevant technical data sheets and intended operating conditions.
Industry professionals will meet at ABS Europe 2026 – Adhesives Bonding & Sealants, the first event dedicated to adhesives, glues, sealants, foams, tapes, resins, coatings, laminates and films in Italy and the Mediterranean region, taking place from October 27 to 29, 2026, at Vicenza Exhibition Center.
