Data Centers and Artificial Intelligence: a New Growth Driver for the Adhesives Market
7 September 2026UK-based sustainable adhesive developer BindEthics has announced that its flagship bio-based adhesive, Ecohesive, has successfully transitioned from the research and development stage to commercial-scale production. The milestone marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to replace formaldehyde-based wood adhesives with more sustainable alternatives while improving the recyclability of engineered wood products.
Production has been scaled up from laboratory testing to initial commercial batches of 40 liters, with a validated manufacturing process capable of reaching volumes of up to 2,000 liters. According to BindEthics, customer discussions indicate a potential market demand exceeding 6,000 tonnes.
The initial production will support industrial trials with leading manufacturers and eco-friendly plywood producers across Europe, accelerating the commercial adoption of the company’s innovative bio-based adhesive technology.
Industry professionals will meet at ABS Europe 2026 – Adhesives Bonding & Sealants, the first event dedicated to adhesives, glues, sealants, foams, tapes, resins, coatings, laminates and films in Italy and the Mediterranean region, taking place from October 27 to 29, 2026, at Vicenza Exhibition Center.
